The Population Health Research Network is being renamed Data Connect Australia.

For more than 16 years, the Population Health Research Network (PHRN) has built world-class data linkage capabilities, secure research environments and partnerships that deliver real public impact.

While our origins are in health research, our role has evolved significantly. Today, we sit at the heart of Australia’s national data ecosystem, connecting researchers, institutions and jurisdictions across disciplines. Our new name Data Connect Australia reflects our belief that better connected data leads to better outcomes for all Australians.

This is just the beginning and we look forward to sharing more with you as our transition continues throughout 2026.
